Nigerians React To Oyetola's Supreme Court Victory

Protesters have stormed the collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

The protesters gathered at the head office of INEC on Saturday night insisting that the governorship election in the state must not end inconclusively.

The final collation is yet to commence at the INEC office, although results have been declared in some Local Government Areas (LGAs) Collation Centres.

The 2018 governorship election in the state was declared inconclusive which later saw the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke lost his mandate.

Adeleke who was winning the election before the rerun in 2018 was defeated eventually by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola.

The protesters believe the ruling party might employ the same technique after seeing the announced results favouring the candidate of the PDP.

As of the time of filing this report, Adeleke had won in six local government areas in the state, while the state Governor, Oyetola has won in two.
