Argentina tactician, Mauricio Pochettino has ended his coaching spell with French Club, Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 club confirmed the development on their official microblogging platform on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

Naija News recalls that Pochettino was appointed PSG manager in January 2021.

The former player won the Ligue 1 title for PSG but failed to secure the Champions League trophy for the club despite having an all-star line-up featuring Neymar, Lionel Messi and Mbappe.

The Argentine, however, finished second in the league during his first campaign and also won the Coupe de France Final.

Confirming his resignation from the club on Tuesday, the French giants said: “Paris Saint-Germain confirm that Mauricio Pochettino has ended his role at the club.

“We would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future.”

Former Head coach of Nice, Christophe Galtier is expected to be confirmed as his replacement.

Meanwhile, Danish professional footballer, Christian Eriksen has reportedly agreed to play for Manchester United on a free transfer.

Naija News understands that the 30-year-old was rumoured to have been considering Brentford or Manchester United, but has now concluded on joining Old Trafford this week.

Erik ten Hag’s side is expected to finalise a three-year contract for the Danish player who spent the second half of last season on loan at Brentford.

Eriksen is expected to have a medical at Old Trafford once the contract gets signed before the weekends.

Renowned sports pundit, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal on his verified Twitter page on Monday morning.

He wrote: “Christian Eriksen will sign three year deal with Manchester United this week, medical already scheduled. Eriksen has already direct talk with Erik ten Hag, key factor.

“Manchester United is working to announce both Malacia and Eriksen as new signings this week.”
