The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday held an executive committee meeting to discuss about the 2023 AFCON and other African football related matters.

Next year’s tournament has been a concern to the body due to heavy downpour in the host country, stating that it was important the players and spectators experience the biggest African tournament in the best possible ways.

AFCON 2023 will now be played between January to February 2024 and the change has come due to bad weather conditions stated above.

The CAF Champions League will go back to Home and Away format so as to have a balance of play between the two finalists as it was from the onset.

The African Super League will be played in August 2023.
