Fintiri, Deputy React As Supreme Court Delivers Final Judgment On Adamawa Governorship Dispute

As the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) continuous voter registration exercise gradually draws to an end, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has called on the people of the state that have not yet registered or updated their voter details to do so.

Finitiri, at a townhall meeting in Hong during the weekend, made the call stressing that “it is your weapon that you can use to elect leaders like me.”

“Go and obtain your permanent voter’s card and elect candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 General Election”.

He used the occasion to charge elders of Hong to mobilize youths and advise them to shun political thuggery and obtain voter’s card to enable them reject leaders who did not perform well during the forthcoming general election.

The Governor said “this town hall meeting was organized to assess the impact of programmes and policies my administration is executing with a view to reviewing them where necessary.”

While explaining on the projects he earlier inspected in Hong, the Governor assured the people that water scarcity will soon become history, adding that the government has also approved extending the 4.4km European quarters road in the area.

Fintiri enumerated the giant strides of his administration in the area of security, youth and women empowerment, financial autonomy to local government councils, housing, and free education among others.

He enjoined traditional rulers and the stakeholders to help the government in providing necessary intelligent reports that will uncover criminal elements in their hideouts.

He added that his administration was able to construct over 300km rural roads across the state, constructed over 5,000 classes and upgraded all the General Hospitals in the State and introduced free medical care.

While meeting with 73 youth groups in Hong, Governor Fintiri assured to provide more dividends of democracy and good governance to the people, stressing that his administration has an open-door policy and it’s ready for any criticism.

Speaking earlier, the PDP Chairman, Hong LGA, Hon. Ibrahim Datti Assured Governor Fintiri of the support of the people going by his track records in the state and assured massive votes for all PDP candidates in the 2023 General Elections.

In their separate remarks, the chairmen of Muslim Council and Christian Association of Nigeria in the area, Malam Usman Umar Shall and Reverend Dean Harrison applauded the Governor for running an inclusive governance.

Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong who recently defected from APC was among other various speakers from different groups who thanked Governor Fintiri for providing dividends of democracy that touched the lives of the people of Hong more than any other previous administration in Adamawa.
