PDP Primaries: I Have No Money To Pay Delegates – Shehu Sani Declares

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker and 2023 governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, Shehu Sani has told delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to expect any money from him.

It is believed to be an open secret that delegates usually get paid by aspirants or get other forms of ‘goodies’ so as to secure their votes during party primaries.

But Shehu Sani, who is seeking the ticket of the PDP for the 2023 governorship seat in Kaduna State has told party delegates he won’t give them any money in exchange for their votes.

The aspirant in a Twitter post on Tuesday maintained that he won’t be a part of any dishonest recruitment process.

Apart from refusing to pay the delegates, Sani also warned that no one should pay the delegates on his behalf as there is a need to sanitize the electoral process.

He wrote on Twitter: “The Kaduna Governorship Primaries; I will NOT pay any delegate to vote for me and no one should pay for me to be voted. I welcome votes based on my agenda for the good people of Kaduna state. We can’t build or develop our country through a dishonest leadership recruitment system.”

Naija News reports there are four major contenders gunning for the PDP ticket in the Kaduna governorship primaries.

They are Mukhtar Yero, former governor of the state; Isa Mohammed Ashiru, 2019 governorship candidate of PDP; a lawyer, Sani Abbas and former lawmaker, Shehu Sani.
