U20 WAFU B: Flying Eagles Too Strong For Benin Republic As They Emerge Champions

Ladan Bosso and the Flying Eagles of Nigeria are the Champions of the U20 WAFU B Tournament in Niger Republic after defeating Benin Republic 3-1.

Man of the match performance from Remo stars forward, Tolulope Ojo with his pace and quick feet was enough nightmare for the Benin Republic defenders.

Two goals from Ojo in the 38th and 62nd minute for Nigeria was already enough statements on who was eventually going to emerge as Champions of the tournament.

The game was put to bed and well beyond the Young Squirrels of Benin Republic after Nigeria made it 3-0 from Ibrahim Muhammad.

Benin Republic eventually got their consolation goal as the game was winding down.

The seven-time African Champions, Nigeria proved to be too strong for every opposition as they went unbeaten all through the tournament after defeating Ghana and earning a draw against Burkina Faso in the group stages.

They also defeated Ivory Coast in the semifinals after extra time was played.

The two finalists, Nigeria and Benin Republic have qualified for the 2023 U20 AFCON to be held in Egypt.
