‘The East Is Gone’ – Nigerians React To Igbo Traders Cheering Unknown Gunmen In Aba

Nigerians on social media have condemned outrightly the hailing of unknown gunmen that stormed the popular Ariaria International market in Aba, Abia State.

Naija News reports that a large number of gunmen in black attire carried out an open parade and patrol in the market and were cheered by the traders and buyers in the area.

In a viral video, the gunmen, numbering about 50, were seen carrying firearms and different weapons to the admiration of the people in the market.

The gunmen also declared a compulsory sit-at-home in the South East for today 5th and tomorrow 6th of May 2022 ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s working visit to Ebonyi State.

Reacting to the video, some netizens condemned the action of the Igbo traders hailing the gunmen. They also questioned where the Igbos were headed with an action like that.
