Nigeria has regrettably become a huge killing field and a large funeral parlour.

US Approves Sale Of 12 Attack Helicopters, Other Weapons To Nigeria

The United States Government has approved the sale of 12 AH-1Z Cobra attack helicopters and other weapons to Nigeria worth nearly $1bn.

Other weapons include the Bell-made Cobras; 28 General Electric-made T700-401C engines; 2,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems and targeting and navigation systems.

The sale of the helicopters and related defence systems to the Nigerian government was announced in a statement by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency on Thursday.

Terrorists Release Four Kidnapped Female Students Of Zamfara College

Bandit terrorists have released four abducted students of the College of Health Science and Technology in Tsafe, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Naija News had reported that the gunmen had in the early hours of Wednesday attacked a hostel located outside the school campus and kidnapped five female students of the college.

According to the Deputy Provost of the college, Jamilu Lawal, the female kidnapped students were released unhurt on Thursday night.

Gunmen Invade Residence Of Tonye Princewill

The residence of Tonye Princewill, an ally of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was attacked by gunmen on Friday morning.

The All Progressives Congress chieftain disclosed that the gunmen after breaking into his residence headed straight for a room they thought was his, broke in but didn’t meet him.

According to Princewill, the invaders did not take any valuables from his house but took away the hard drive of his CCTV recorder.

2023: Omo-Agege Joins Delta State Governorship Race

The Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared his intention to join the Delta Governorship race in the 2023 election.

He made his intention known to his supporters and All Progressives Congress (APC) members at a rally inside the Federal University Of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, Warri, on Thursday.

The Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district in the National Assembly said he will be contesting for the governorship seat on the platform of the APC.

IPOB Denies Being Responsible For Death Of INEC Official In Imo

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stated that its members are not responsible for the murder of an ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State.

IPOB stated that the enemies of their group are those responsible for the attack.

Recall that Naija News earlier reported that about 12 gunmen had attacked Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State during a voter registration exercise.

Presidency Reveals Why Northern Elders Want Buhari To Resign

Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina has revealed the reason the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) demanded President Muhammadu Buhari‘s immediate resignation.

Naija News reported on Tuesday that the NEF had asked Buhari to resign over the incessant attacks and killings in the North and across the country.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the forum said the All Progressives Congress-led government has failed to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians.

In an article titled, ‘Hiding under the umbrella of insecurity’ on Thursday, Adesina said the resignation call by the NEF was political and unnecessary, adding that the members of the forum were just frustrated.

2023: APC Fixes Date For First NEC Meeting Under Abdullahi Adamu

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed April 20 for its first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting under the Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee (NWC).

Naija News recalls that the new NWC of the party was elected at its National Convention held on Saturday, March 26 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

According to a statement released on Friday by the spokesman of the party, Felix Morka, the meeting is compulsory for all members of the NEC to attend.

‘Stop Passing The Buck’ – PDP Knocks APC, Buhari Over Worsening Insecurity

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to berate the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari over the worsening insecurity in the country.

According to the opposition party, the ruling party has failed to protect the lives and properties of the citizens and is unable to tackle the insecurity rocking the nation.

Nigerian Music Legend Orlando Julius Is Dead

Veteran Nigerian Highlife musician, Orlando Julius Olusanya Ekemode, better known as Orlando Julius, has died.

Naija News gathered that the saxophonist, who hailed from Ijebu Ijesha in Osun state,  died at 3am on Friday at the age of 79 years.

His death was confirmed in a Facebook post by the Managing Director of Evergreen Music, Bimbo Esho.
