The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed April 20 for its first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting under the Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee (NWC).

Naija News recalls that the new NWC of the party was elected at its National Convention held on Saturday, March 26 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

According to a statement released on Friday by the spokesman of the party, Felix Morka, the meeting is compulsory for all members of the NEC to attend.

Morka said the meeting was scheduled to consider the party’s schedule for the primaries ahead of the 2023 general elections and other relevant party business.

The APC spokesman added that the meeting will take place at the congress hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja at 10am.

According to Morka, the notice of the meeting is in accordance with Article 25.2.ii of the APC constitution, adding that all NEC members are to attend the meeting in line with Article 12.3 of the party’s law.

The statement reads: “Pursuant to Article 25.2.ii of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the National Working Committee (NWC) hereby invites members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great Party to a meeting to consider the Party’s Timetable/Schedule of Activities for Primaries for the nomination of candidates for the 2023 General Elections and other relevant business of the Party.

“All members of the NEC are by this invitation to take notice of the meeting in accordance with Article 12.3 of the APC constitution, please.”
