Another Bomb Found In Kaduna Community
Another Improvised Explosives Device (IED) has been discovered by residents of Shanono in Shanono Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The explosive was discovered on Friday, 24 hours after an IED concealed in a bucket was found.
Naija News had earlier reported that the state anti-bomb squad deactivated the explosive which was discovered on Thursday.
A resident of Shanono identified as Tijjani Umar while speaking with Daily Trust noted that children in the community discovered the explosive in a jerrycan covered with black nylon.
He said it was placed very close to a stream in the community.
“It was kept in the same spot where the Thursday IED was discovered. We don’t know what is happening in this community. It was my elder’s brother wife that rushed to inform me that the children found another bomb inside Jerrycan,” he said.
The development was confirmed by the spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige.
He said the anti-bomb squad have been deployed to the area.
Jalige said, “The area has been cordoned off to protect the people from getting hurt while our men are there to defuse the device.”
