On Tuesday, 8th February, a formal letter announcing his defection was read by Lawan on the flor of the Senate.

Bwacha cited “huge division and factionalization” of the PDP in Taraba State as reasons for his defection.

After reading the letter, Lawan said: “Let me congratulate you for taking the most deserving decision to flow along with your constituents who have seen the real thing on the ground,”
