APC Crisis: Buni, Shekarau, Dogara, Others Meet

Some chieftains of the Kano State chapter of All Progressives Congress on Thursday met with the National Leadership of the party.

The meeting was held in respect to the ongoing reconciliatory efforts to resolve the crisis rocking the party in the state.

The party chieftains met with the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Governor Mai Buni at the Yobe Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

Those in attendance include, Ibrahim Shekarau, Kabiru Gaya, Jibrin Barau, House Leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa.

Others were former House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara and representatives of the Kano government.

The participants while speaking stated that they are optimistic that their differences will be addressed.

The crisis in the party got worse after the Congress, where some aggrieved members accused the state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje of working against them.

In another development, the APC has announced February 19 as the date for the conduct of the party’s primary election for the Osun 2022 governorship election.

The date was announced in a statement shared on the party’s social media pages on Thursday and signed by the National Secretary, APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe.
