Mason Greenwood Arrested Over Rape, Assault Allegations

Greater Manchester Police on Sunday arrested Manchester United striker, Mason Greenwood over allegations of rape and assault.

Naija News earlier reported that Greenwood’s ex-girlfriend, Harriet Robson had accused the 20-year-old player of violence and rape via her Instagram stories.

Robson shared voice recording and photos of the injuries she sustained from the attacks inflicted on her by the Man United forward.

The model seen covered in blood and with bruises on her body, shared the video and wrote, “To everyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood actually does to me.”

A statement released by the police said the 20-year-old remains in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing into the allegations.

The force added that it had launched an investigation after being made aware of the images and footage earlier on Sunday.

Greenwood, from Bradford, made his debut in 2019 and has since clocked up 129 appearances for the club.

The England international made his senior England debut in 2020.

Sportswear giant Nike, which sponsors Greenwood, said in a statement: “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
