Benue Commissioner’s Brother Shot Dead On Farm

Christopher Inalegwu, the elder brother to the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism in Benue State, Michael Inalegwu has been shot dead on his farm.

It was gathered that Christopher was killed in an attack at the Aku village in the Okololo ward of Agatu Local Government Area.

The Commissioner’s brother after he was shot was not taken to a hospital immediately, and when they eventually got to a hospital there was no doctor available to attend to him.

Christopher was pronounced dead after he was taken to another hospital.

In another development, a farm belonging to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, Orchard Farm on Saturday got destroyed by fire.

Obasanjo had planted mango and orange trees on the 2,420 hectares of farmland at Howe, a few kilometres away from Aliade, headquarters of Gwer East local government area of Benue State.

There were claims that the farm might have been set on fire by youths to express their grievances for not paying compensation for the land.
