The house of a pastor in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, has been set ablaze after his daughter allegedly murdered a young girl.

Reports revealed that the body of a 7-year-old girl known as Demilade was found in the home of the pastor on Tuesday, December 7.

A source told the Guardian that the young girl was sent on an errand to buy pap around 8:00am on Monday.

However that was the last time they saw the little girl as the pastor’s mentally deranged daughter had accosted the victim and butchered her to death. The assailant later ran away on Monday night.

The source said: “After their effort proved abortive, the incident was reported at the nearby Police Station by the parents and family friends.

“A search party was launched for the girl by her parents and some residents and she was never found before her corpse was found this morning (Dec. 7) at the residence of a Redeem Christian Church Pastor in the neighbourhood.

“So, it was, later on, we heard the Pastor and his wife had gone to the State Police Command to report his mentally ill daughter’s act. I even heard the girl had once matcheted her father’s head.”

After the victims body was discovered, youths with petrol stormed the house of the pastor and set it on fire.

The suspect was later apprehended in Adehun area in Ekiti when a mob was trying to kill her after committing another crime.

Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti, Mr. Sunday Abutu, revealed that the arrest was possible due to information relayed by the suspect parents.
