Kaduna Govt Holds Security Council Meeting

The Kaduna State government on Tuesday, held an expanded state security council meeting which was chaired by the Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

The meeting was attended by heads of security agencies in the state, traditional rulers, representatives of professional associations, trade unions, and civil society organizations.

Meanwhile, Kaduna State has been in the news recently over increasing waves of bandits attacks on schools and institutions in the state.

Most recently, bandits abducted students and teachers from UBE Primary School in Rama village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that three teachers and some pupils were abducted on Monday morning while pupils were resuming for school.

This news medium understands that the gunmen came on about 12 motorcycles and shot sporadically into the air to scare the students and teachers.

The abduction was later confirmed by theĀ Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led government.

The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan in a statement said, “The Kaduna State Government is receiving security reports of kidnapping of some pupils and teachers in a primary school located in Rema, Birnin Gwari local government area.”

“According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at an LEA Primary School in the LGA.”

He added that the state government is currently obtaining details on the actual number of pupils and teachers kidnapped.

Aruwan promised that it will issue a comprehensive statement as soon as possible.
