Boko Haram: Pregnant Woman, Five Others Killed In Borno

A pregnant mother and five other persons have been reportedly killed by the Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State.

Naija News understands that the victims were killed during the attack which left many with injuries on Damboa community on Sunday, October 25.

It was reported earlier that troops of the Nigerian Army killed some insurgents in Borno after the terrorist group stormed the town in seven gun trucks and 12 motorbikes and headed straight to the army base.

“It was our market day, villagers went to the market. As we were preparing to return to our homes, we heard cars passing; then shortly, we heard gunshots from the army base,” said a resident who confirmed the incident to reporters.

“The army engaged the insurgents for hours after which the Boko Haram fighters ran away. The people that were killed were people coming back from the market, they ran into the attack. Six civilians were killed, one pregnant woman, one Almajiri and four other men.”

Subsequently, the terrorist group returned to the army base on Tuesday morning, October 27, but met their Waterloo as the army repelled them. Giving an update on the attack, operatives of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Damboa stated that 22 insurgents were killed while five soldiers paid the supreme price.

Meanwhile, five soldiers have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of their fatherland, losing their lives during a fight between troops of the Nigerian military and Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State.

It was also understood that 38 members of the terrorist group were eliminated in during the face-off between troops and the terrorists.
