Thugs have shot an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo State.
Naija News reports that the Edo Governorship election was held yesterday with INEC yet to officially announce the winner.
The shooting of the electoral umpire official was announced on Sunday by Godswill Alameni, Collation Officer for Etsako Central Local Government Area.
According to Alameni, Alameni said the unnamed INEC staff was shot on Saturday and was currently hospitalised.
This, he said, led to the cancellation of results in a ward in the council.
Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently leading Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the result released so far.
