George Floyd’s GoFundMe Account Has Received $13m In Donations

It is amazing how people across the world have shown love to late George Floyd by trooping out to protest against his murder and as well donating their hard-earned money for his memorial.

Naija News recalls that the United States citizen was on May 25, 2020, murdered by a Police officer in Minneapolis for allegedly presenting void paper note.

Barely two weeks after the black American was murdered, he has received a huge donation from concerned individuals from countries of the wold for his memorial, amounting to the sum of $13 million.

Naija News understands that a GoFundMe account was created for Floyd’s family to live on following the disheartening event. The account has, however, received huge deposits as more people still showing interest to donate.

According to reports, the campaign account, ‘Official George Floyd Memorial Fund’ which was created by Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, was targeted at raising just $1.5 million for the family but has now multiple time the figures as citizens express their love for the deceased who ceased breathing under the knees of a Police officer.
