President Muhammadu Buhari‘s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has been blasted by Nigerians on the microblogging account, Twitter, after he tweeted about Dadiyata, a journalist kidnapped in Kaduna State.

Naija News recalls that a journalist, Abubakar Idris, better known as Dadiyata was kidnapped last year August by some unknown gunmen in Barnawa, a community in Kaduna State.

Until this time, no one could tell where the journalist was taken to despite efforts by family members and some individuals in authority.

Today June 3rd, Dadiyata should be celebrating his birthday with loved ones, unfortunately, he remained with his faceless and nameless abductors.

To celebrate Dadiyata’s birthday, Bashir took to his verified Twitter account to pray for his protection and freedom, noting that he has always included him in his prayers.

He tweeted; “This is to wish Abubakar Dadiyata a happy birthday, I wish him the best and remember him always in my prayers. May Allah protect him everywhere he is, rescue and reunite him with his family and friends.”

His tweet, however, was greeted with reactions as Nigerian charged him to use his position to beg people in power for freedom of the journalist.
