AFDB Adesina Meets With President Muhammadu Buhari In Aso rock

Akinwumi Adesina, president of African Development Bank (AfDB), is currently in a meeting with  President Muhammadu Buhari, at the presidential villa, Abuja.

The meeting is holding amidst the allegations of impropriety brought against Adesina at the Abidjan-based financial institution.

Recall that some whistleblowers in the organisation had written a petition against him but he was cleared after an investigation into the issue by the bank’s ethics committee.

The United States Department of Treasury however dismissed the outcome of the probe, calling for an independent investigation of the allegations.

This had irked some African leaders, including former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, who accused the US of undue interference.
