The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has come under attack over the rally which was organised in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Wednesday.
The rally organised by Governor Makinde had in attendance, the Special Assistant to the governor on Culture and Tourism, Taye, who reportedly just returned from the United Kingdom, one of the countries with cases of coronavirus.
The development did not go down well with Nigerians following the announcement of the minister of health, Osagie Ehanire, that five new cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed.
A suspected case of the disease is presently being monitored in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Bashir Bello, while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday said the suspected case in his 50’s arrived Bodija area of Ibadan from the United Kingdom.
Some Nigerians took to their social media platforms to condemn the Oyo state government for conducting the rally at this time.
