Tinubu: Fani-Kayode Takes Personal Decision On APC's Muslim-Muslim Ticket Bid

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has berated those calling on the recently ousted Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi Lamido, to contest the 2023 Presidential election.

Naija News recalls that a Federal High Court in Abuja had granted an interim order releasing deposed Emir of Kano from confinement/detention.

The order was granted on Friday, 13th March 2020 by Justice Anwuli Chikere.

It will be recalled the Emir was dethroned on Monday, 9th March by the Kano State government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and was subsequently banished to Nasarawa State where he has reportedly been in confinement.

However, ruling on Friday in an ex-parte motion brought before the court by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Sanusi’s counsel, the Judge ordered the dethroned Emir to be set free.

The order, made interim, is directed at the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Attorney General of Kano State and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) – who are all named as respondents in a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed on March 12, 2020 by Sanusi.

Following Sanusi’s dethronement, rumours are already flying about that the former Emir of Kano may replace President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode described those making the call as accursed slaves.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain wondered why President Muhammadu Buhari’s replacement must come from the North.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “The kind of evil that some useful idiots and accursed slaves are wishing upon themselves with this SLS for 2023 thing baffles me. Must we be slaves to the north forever? Abi they don swear for una?”
