Zamfara: LG Chairman, Ex DIG, 25,000 Others Dump APC, Join PDP

List Of States Won By APC, PDP, NNPP And Labour Party After Supreme Court Judgement On Friday

The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State has experienced mass defection after no fewer than 25,000 members dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party.

The former Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mamman Tsafe, Tsafe Local Government council Chairman, Aminu Nudi Tsafe and the ten councillors of the Local Government council dumped APC for PDP.

The defectors while declaring their defection at the state Government House in Gusau, the state capital with the leader of the group. Hon Aminu Mudi Tsafe said they were not compelled to defect.

The chairman of Tsafe council noted that before the emergence of Governor Mohammed Matawalle, Tsafe Local Government Area was a no go area as the armed bandits and notorious kidnappers attack the community.

“I wish to make it categorically clear that we are decamping with thousands of our supporters from the Local Government Area of the state. Nobody intimidated us, but we decamped on our own accord,” he said.

The chairman further stated that many more members of the opposition would still decamp from his Local Government Area.

The Chairman of PDP, Ibrahim Malaha, while receiving the decampees expressed satisfaction over their defection, saying that they decamped because they have seen positive changes on the ground.

He noted that it was time for people from other political parties in the state to decamp to the PDP, he added that the party is ready to accept decampees.

Malaha further stated the party is operating an inclusive government and the party needs total success in the state.
