Minister Goes Spiritual, Orders Staff To Fast Against Killings In Borno

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, has raised the ‘flag of war’ against Boko Haram as she goes spiritual with staff of her ministry joining in a solidarity fasting and prayer.

The exercise which is said be a call to God towards putting an end to Boko Haram attack in the Northern part of the country, most especially in Borno State, was disclosed in a statement released from the office of the Assistant Director of Information of the Ministry, Rhoda Iliya.

The statement read thus; “The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, the Permanent Secretary, Directors and staff of the Ministry have resolved to fast and embark on special supplications to the Almighty on Monday, February 24, 2020, in solidarity with the government and people of Borno state.

“In a notice issued to the staff of the Ministry, the Minister urged all staff of the Ministry to voluntarily fast on Monday and pray for a quick end to the carnage caused in Borno State and other parts of the North-East by the Boko Haram terror group.”

Recall the Boko Haram insurgents recently attacked Auno in Maiduguri, Borno State leaving about 30 people dead.

Meanwhile, a former military head of state in Nigeria, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) has sought divine intervention for Nigeria to overcome its security challenges, Naija News reports.
