CAF Releases Final 10 Nominees For 2019 African Player Of The Year
The final ten nominees for the 2019 African Player of the year award has been released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Recall that CAF had initially released a list of 30 players.
Nigeria duo, Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimhen have been dropped from the list while Liverpool superstar, Mohamed Salah and his teammate, Sadio Mane, made the final list released by CAF.
The defending champion of AFCON, Algeria, have three players on the list: Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, AC Milan midfielder Ismail Bennacer and winger Youcef Belaili.
A former winner of the award, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Ajax duo Andre Onana and Hakim Ziyech survived the cut.
Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Nigeria international Odion Ighalo will also compete for the award.
