Voting officially ended at 2:00 pm in today, November 16, 2019, Bayelsa State Governorship election.

Naija News reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed today for the Bayelsa and Kogi States Guber polls.

Results from today’s election will determine who would take over from Governor Seriake Dickson and govern Bayelsa for the next four years.

There are eight local governments (LGAs), 105 Registration Areas and 1,804 Polling Units in Bayelsa State.

The governorship election was keenly contested between David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Other candidates include: Accord Party, Ebizimo Diriyai; African Action Congress (AAC), Kalango Stanley Davies; Alliance for Democracy, Owei-Tongu Woniwei; Alliance National Party (ANP), Kunde Noah.

Senator Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded 1906 votes in the unit to defeat Chief David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 5 votes.
