Buhari Wins Major Victory At Tribunal

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has ruled that President Muhammadu Buhari possesses the required educational qualification to contest the presidential seat in Nigeria.

The Tribunal made the submission during its ruling on Wednesday in Abuja when it ruled in the petition by Atiku Abubakar and the PDP on the educational qualification of President Buhari to contest the 2019 presidential election.

In the Tribunal judgement which is still been read as at the time of filing this report, the judges said Buhari was qualified beyond the minimum requirements to contest the presidential election in Nigeria.

The Tribunal added that evidence presented by the petitioners even showed that Buhari was educated to the level of having a West African School Certificate (WASC) and beyond.

The court also held that the petitioners failed to prove their claim that Buhari does not possess the educational qualification to contest the 2019 presidential election, hence it ruled that there is no falsehood in the affidavit of personal information submitted to INEC by Buhar before the election.
