Boko Haram Kill 60 Mourners, Injure Many In Borno

Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly killed 60 persons and injured 11 others in Ngazai Local Government Area of Borno State.

NAN reports that the insurgents were on a reprisal mission when they attacked Badu village in Nganzai LGA on Saturday.

The chairman of the local government council, Muhammad Bulama, confirmed the attack on Sunday.

According to Bulama, Boko Haram had attacked Badu village but they were repelled by the villagers and members of the vigilante group.

He said the insurgent regrouped and invaded the village on a reprisal mission killing mourners at a graveyard.

“The villagers resisted the attack, killed 11 insurgents and recovered 10 AK-47 rifles in the encounter.

“On Saturday at about 11:40 a.m., the insurgents came on a reprisal mission, attacked mourners at a graveyard, killed over 60 persons and injuring 11 others,” he added.
