Busola Vs Fatoyinbo: Again, Police To Grill COZA Pastor Over Rape

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has disowned some of its leaders that visited the Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) on Sunday.

Naija News recalls that celebrity photography and wife of singer Timi Dakolo, Busola, had accused the Senior Pastor of COZA, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, of raping her 20 years ago.

The accusation drew widespread condemnation and protest which led to the stepping down of Pastor Biodun as head of COZA.

He, however, denied the allegations by Busola Dakolo, vowing to challenge the matter in court.

Following calls for Fatoyinbo’s sanction, CAN stated that the pastor was not a member of the association but promised to investigate the matter.

However, a video surfaced online, where some representatives of CAN visited the Abuja branch of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) during last Sunday’s church service,

The video reportedly shows the CAN officials pledging to stand by Fatoyinbo.

Reacting in a statement on Tuesday by CAN’s National Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Evang. Barrister Kwamkur Vondip, said the pastors who had visited the church were on their own and that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria had set up a panel to investigate the rape allegation against Pastor Fatoyinbo.

“Those who did so did it on their own. We stand by our earlier release on this issue that while we would never support any act of immorality from whatever quarter.

“We can tell you PFN has constituted a panel investigating the matter, and in less than two weeks, the outcome of the investigation will come out.

“We urge all Christian brothers and sisters to know that this is the position of CAN.

“We would not spare anyone found wanting from facing appropriate disciplinary actions.”
