1. What President Muhammadu Buhari Told Osinbajo, Governors During NEC Inauguration

President Muhammadu Buhari has challenged the newly inaugurated National Economic Council (NEC), with tenure from 2019 to 2023 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to look into new economic policies that would boost the counties gross domestic product.

Naija News understands that the President who arrived the Council Chamber at around 1.23pm also urged the new NEC to press forward with key initiatives and specially focus on security, education health and agriculture.

2. Stop Compensating ‘Enemies’ Of Buhari – APC Group Slams Senate President Lawan

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum has warned Senate President Ahmed Lawan against appointing ‘enemies’ of President Buhari as aides.

The group submitted that such appointments constitute an insult to President Buhari and all others who supported him (Lawan) to emerge as Senate President.

3. PDP Must Recover Its Stolen Mandate – Secondus

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has charged members to join hands to recover its stolen mandate.

He made this known while speaking at the 86th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party in Abuja on Thursday.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, during the forum’s inaugural meeting under his leadership, Fayemi noted that governors were yet to decide on state and local government police because the financial capacity of each state differs.

6. Lawan Bows To Pressure, Withdraws Festus Adedayo’s Appointment

The President of the 9th Nigerian Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan, has withdrawn the appointment of Dr. Festus Adedayo as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, bowing to pressure from some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

Naija News recalls that the Senate President appointed Adedayo as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity on Tuesday, June 18.

7. What NEC Discussed About Security, Almajiri’s Fate

The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno has disclosed that the Al-majiri groups among others would be proscribed by the Federal Government.

He briefed State House correspondents at the end of NEC meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
