Give Amnesty To People In Prison Not Only Bandits - Cardinal Onaiyekan

Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, John Cardinal Onaiyekan has asked God to free President Muhammadu Buhari from praise singers and bad advisers in his second tenure.

Naija News recalls that the President Muhammadu Buhari‘s wife, Aisha Buhari had earlier taken to Twitter to advise African Presidents to ignore “praise singing advisers,” a piece of advice which has since generated controversy on social media.

Meanwhile, the bishop while praying to God during the 2019 Presidential Inauguration at the  Interdenominational Church Service in Abuja, advised all Nigerians to remain hopeful for a bright future.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who also delivered the message of hope at the event advised all Nigerian  Christians to take the lead in giving hope to others.

He said: “Our days will be better and better. This is the reason I am so confident; our ministry is that of reconciliation. “We must not permit anyone to take advantage of the fault lines. Our country stands at the threshold of phenomenal greatness, the end of the story light and joy.

“We begin with darkness and confusion but the end of our story is bright, the future of our nation is bright.”

While the former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon urged Nigerians to continue to love the country and defend it in whatever way they could.

The key political figures at the service include the wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, former Senate President Ken Nnamani and Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha.
