1. Shuaibu Ibrahim Replaces Kazaure As NYSC DG

Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim has replaced Maj. General Suleiman Kazaure as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Naija News understands that Ibrahim is the Registrar of the Nigeria Army University (NAU), Biu, Borno State, North-Eastern Nigeria.

2. Biafra: Prophet Nwoke, Nnamdi Kanu’s Top Critic Killed In Enugu

Prophet Anthony Nwoko, a top critic of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has been allegedly killed in his Enugu residence, located around Ugbene II, Nike area of Enugu metropolis. A report by Vanguard newspaper says the clergyman was found butchered in his one bedroom apartment by neighbours who promptly reported the incident to Police on Monday this week.

3. N30,000 Minimum Wage: Another Election Promise Delivered – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted that the signing of the new N30,000 minimum wage by President Muhammadu Buhari is a fulfillment of an election promise. The ruling party made the submission in a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu and made available to newsmen on Friday.

4. Atiku Vs Buhari: INEC Denies DSS Arrested ICT Staff

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied the arrest of some staff of its ICT unit by operatives of the DSS on the suspicion of leaking official secrets to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. INEC’s Director in charge of Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Civil Society Liaison, Oluwole Osaze-Uzi told Saturday Vanguard that there was nothing of such, describing the report as a social media hoax.

5. Onnoghen Finally Reacts To CCT’s Judgement, Files Notice Of Appeal

Justice Walter Onnoghen has rejected the judgement of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) which convicted him of six counts of false declaration of assets preferred against him by the Federal Government. Naija News learnt that the embattled jurist filed a notice of appeal at the Court of Appeal in Abuja to challenge the ruling of the Tribunal yesterday after the ruling.

6. Tell Buhari The Truth, Nigerians Are Hungry, Gani Adams Tells Presidency

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Mr.Gani Adam has berated the achievement of president Muhammadu Buhari led administration. Naija News learnt that Gani spoke at the 2nd annual lecture of Freedom Online, which was held in Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, told Femi Adesina to tell President Buhari that Nigerians are hungry.

7. N30,000 New Minimum Wage: NLC, TUC Tell Employers What To Do

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called all employers of labour to commence the process of implementing the new minimum wage of N30,000 as passed by President Muhammadu Buhari. The unions also lauded President Buhari for signing the bill into law.

8. PDP Suspends Party Chairmen In Rivers

The opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state has suspended indefinitely 15 of its Local Government Chairmen in the state. The chairmen were suspended shortly after an emergency meeting on Thursday, April 18 at the state secretariat.
