Man Caught With Locally Made Pistol In Sokoto State
The Police in Sokoto state have arrested one Ibrahim Alhassan, an alleged gun fabricator.
Confirming the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer, Sokoto Command, ASP Muhammad Sadiq said,Ib rahim Alhassan of Runbukawa village in the Niger Republic was arrested last Monday at about 4 pm, in possession of two locally made revolver pistol with 18 improvised live ammunition.
The suspect was nabbed by a team of police patrol attached to Sabon Birni division in Sabon Birni local government, he added.
According to the PPRO, the suspect admitted that he was the manufacturer of the said Revolver Pistols.
Sadiq added that the suspect also confessed to having sold two of the revolver pistol at Mailalle village of Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto at the rate of N10,000 each.
The PPRO also disclosed that the Police last Tuesday recovered one Toyota Hilux, belonging to Mr. Tabia Muller, Head of Technical section, Glo office in Sokoto.
The police spokesman explained that the victim was trapped by three armed men at his residence located at Bafarawa estate in the state metropolis, and robbed of his official vehicle.
“Upon receiving the information, a team of policemen went on a heel of the hoodlums and as a result of hot chase, they had no option than to abandon the vehicle and run,” he stated.
He said efforts had been intensified to apprehend the hoodlums for possible arrest and subsequent prosecution.
The PPRO urged members of the public to always volunteer useful information that could assist to apprehend suspected criminals in the state.
“Moreover, the command under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Kaoje will continue to ensure coordinated search and surveillance aim at protecting lives and properties as well as rid Sokoto state of criminals and reduce criminality,” he asserted.
