What Sanwo-Olu Discussed With Buhari In Aso Rock

The Governor-elect of Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says he visited President Muhammadu Buhari in order to congratulate him and share the vision of his administration with him.

Naija News reports that the incoming governor visited the President at his office in Aso Rock, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, in the company of his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat on Monday.

According to Sanwo-Olu, their mission in Aso Rock was to congratulate Buhari on winning a second term in office.

President Buhari also congratulated the duo on their victory in the Lagos governorship election.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the meeting, Sanwo-Olu said: “It is important for the Deputy Governor-elect and myself to have a one-on-one short discussion with the Commander-in-Chief, and it’s a rare privilege.

“It was a short one, just to say congratulations to him on his own election and he also said the same thing to us. So it’s a very short courtesy visit to Mr President,” he said.

Giving more update on the micro-blogging site, Twitter said he and his deputy solicited President Buhari’s support as they “prepare for the task ahead of us.”

The governor-elect tweeted: “Today at the State House, @drobafemihamzat and I had a fruitful meeting with H.E President @MBuhari.

“We shared our vision #ForAGreaterLagos with him and solicited his support as we prepare for the task ahead of us,” Sanwo-Olu wrote.
