Tension As Gunmen Kill Five Soldiers In Anambra Community

Unknown gunmen have murdered the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, north-central Nigeria, Boniface Okoloho.

Naija News learned that Okoloho was murdered by daredevil gunmen on Saturday, February 16, while returning from a party function. INEC had fixed the general elections that day but later shifted it to February 23.

The development was confirmed by the governorship candidate of the APC in Benue, Emmanuel Jime.

Jime who confirmed the sad occurrence and expressed his total condemnation of the dastardly act called on the state government to open investigations and ensure the killers of Okoloho are severely punished as that will serve as a deterrent to others.

His words: “I condemn in very strong terms, this unnecessary politics of violence and bloodshed, that has claimed the life of Mr Okoloho, our beloved brother and staunch member of our great party in Ohimini.

“Mr Okoloho was one of the very committed leaders of our party in Zone C and we regret that he lost his life in such a horrible circumstance, in the service of his state and his party. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” Jime added.
