Soyinka Reacts To Lagos-Ibadan Rail Project

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on Friday reacted to the Lagos-Ibadan standard Gauge rail project by the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

Naija News reports that Soyinka in his reaction to the project commended the president during a test-run of the train from Iju station in Lagos to Abeokuta in Ogun.

The literary icon commended the president in Abeokuta at a reception with the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who led a delegation of government functionaries for the maiden fair of the train.

Soyinka noted that the era will usher in a suitable environment for traders to transport their products on the rail.

“This is a creative work and I believe one of these days, on this particular platform, a rocket will go to the next planet,” he said.

Recall that Naija News had reported that the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed the plans of the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo for the Lagos-Ibadan rail project.
