A suspected cult leader, identified as Badoo, has been reported killed during a clash between two cult groups in Osogbo.

Eye witnesses said the cult groups clashed on Sunday evening in front of a joint along the Gbongan Road, Osogbo.

Report gathered by Naija News revealed that the deceased, was accosted by about eleven men with dangerous weapons and ordered to enter into a waiting vehicle.

But the man did not obey them. No one could go near the scene, but from the other side where we watched them, they wanted to forcibly carry the man away. He stood his ground and because he disobeyed his attackers, Badoo was shot at repeatedly,” a shop owner near the scene of the attack, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.

A security source said the two cult groups had been engaged in a supremacy battle in the last 10 months in the state.

He said over the period, several members of the groups had been killed in retaliation for earlier killings and as a proof of superiority.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed the incident to Punch and assured residents that all those involved in the murder would be apprehended and prosecuted.
