NHIS Workers Protest Yusuf’s Resumption

Workers of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) have blocked the entrance of their office in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Naija News learnt that the protesters denied the embattled Executive secretary Usman Yusuf, that was suspended entrance into the office.

Heavy security personnel were seen at the gate as workers struggled with security men while some staff loyal to the executive secretary succeeded in breaking the keys to the gate.

Yusuf had kicked against his suspension by the NHIS governing board, saying he would resume work today.

But the NHIS workers union who had earlier arrived the office complex, threatened to lock him out of office.

They were however overpowered by security operatives who accompanied the suspended Yusuf to the office complex and allowed him access to his office.
