Ololade Kehinde Reveals 60 Friends Supported In Purchasing His Nomination Form

An aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, for the Abeokuta South 1 State House of Assembly, Dr. Ololade Kehinde, says 60 of his friends bought the nomination and expression of interest forms for him.

He said the forms cost N950,000.

The APC Aspirant who disclosed this to journalists yesterday in Abeokuta while declaring his ambition at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State council secretariat, said he preferred direct primaries for all elective positions, arguing that the method was a one-stop solution to impunity, imperialism, and political dictatorship.

While condemning the consensus model of primary, the nuclear medicine physician, equated it to thwarting of the wish of the people by a few powerful people. He said, “I don’t have any godfather. God is my father, and I don’t believe in ‘do or die’ politics. “I am coming forward to serve my people because I know I have something to offer. I am a salary earner. I am a lecturer at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. “About 60 people, I mean my friends contributed the money I used in purchasing my nomination form for the state House of Assembly in Ogun. Some gave me ₦2,000 each, some gave me ₦3,000 each, till it peaked at N950,000. The money was raised within 48 hours.”

Kehinde, who said he joined the race in order to give his constituents meaningful and impactful representation in the state House of Assembly, added that he would engage in youth empowerment, encourage entrepreneurship among women and ensure legislative backing to promote adequate health care delivery in the state if elected.
