PDP Emerges Winner Across All The 23 LGs In Rivers States
In the Local Government elections held on Saturday in Rivers State, the Peoples Democratic Party have emerged winner across the 23 local government areas of the state.
The Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Chukwunenye Uriri (retd.), who declared the results of the election on Sunday night, explained that the exercise was free, fair and devoid of violence.
The All Progressives Congress boycotted the election, saying that it decided to obey court orders concerning the exercise that was conducted on Saturday.
Punch reports that the winner of the council election in Ikwerre Local Government, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike,who got 78,662 votes, expressed gratitude to the people of the area for expressing their confidence in him through their votes.
He also assured that he would fulfill all his campaign promises to the people of Ikwerre Local Government Area.
