Buhari Hosts Super Eagles Team

President Muhammad Buhari has told the Super Eagles that they are carrying the emotions and feelings of over 180 million Nigerians to the World Cup tournament in Russia.

Naija News also learnt that Buhari charged the team  today while receiving the them s at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, to play a clean and fair game but bring the World Cup trophy back home.

He said that the team is very young but encouraged them to display the Nigerian spirit and their knowledge to a great advantage over their opponents. The meeting was held just before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council, (FEC) meeting.

Also present at the meeting was the Youth and Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.

The Super Eagles are expected to leave the country today for London in preparation towards their match against England at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening, another pre-World Cup friendly.

In five previous outings at the FIFA World Cup, the Eagles have reached the Round of 16 on three occasions (1994, 1998 and 2014), but excited at the group stage at the 2002 and 2010 finals.

From London, the delegation will fly into Bad Tatzmannsdorf, a city in Austria where they will spend eight days at the world-renowned Avita Resort before flying to Russia.

In-between the final camping in Austria, the team will play a final pre-World Cup friendly against the Czech Republic at the Rudolf Tonn Stadium (just outside Vienna) on Wednesday next week.
