PDP Lauds Peaceful Ekiti Primary Election

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended all members, delegates, and stakeholders of the party in Ekiti State describing the primary election as peaceful, free, fair and credible.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Kola Ologbondiyan in the statement also lauded the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led electoral committee for ensuring a transparent exercise and a level playing ground for all aspirants in the primary election.

“The unprecedented orderliness and spirit of sportsmanship that pervaded the exercise is a clear testimony of the ingrained values of fairness and strict adherence to internal democracy in the rebranded, repositioned and retooled PDP.

“Under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus, the PDP has thrown impunity, imposition and interferences in the electoral process, into the dustbin of history.

“The Osun and Ekiti electoral thresholds will guide our electioneering processes at all levels, particularly, our presidential primary,” the statement read in part.

“Our primary was contested by credible individuals of proven integrity and credentials, who exhibited the highest level of selflessness throughout the exercise, in keeping with the resolve of all members to work together to ensure the victory of our party in the July election,” the statement read further.

Naija News also learnt that the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu also congratulated the Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the peaceful conduct of the primary election .
He said: “I congratulate the PDP, Ekiti State on this anytransparent, peaceful, free, and fair outing. It is has showcased, once again the growing internal democracy in our party.

“I commend Governor Ayodele Fayose, the Returning Officer, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and our party leaders for showing leadership when it mattered the most.

“I commend the aspirants for their exemplary sportsmanship. I enjoin Prof. Olusola to continue to work closely with every party faithful, especially the former aspirants, to ensure a massive victory for the PDP in the governorship poll”.

Ekweremadu also called on the people of Ekiti State to continue to support the PDP.
