Two Men Arraigned For Stealing Senator’s Chickens
Osun State Police Command on Monday arraigned a 65-year-old man, Adegoke Atanda and a 50-year-old Obe Adegbola, for allegedly stealing six chickens worth ₦9, 600.
Naija News gathered that the suspects stole the live chickens from a former senator Olu Alabi’s farm in Oke Onitea area of Oshogbo at night on February 10, 2018.
The ex senator represented Osun Central Senatorial District at the Senate between 1991 and 1992.
The prosecutor, Mr. Gafari Muslimi, told the court, that the offence contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State 2003.
The accused therefore pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Their counsel, Mr. Okobe Najite, made an oral application for their bail and prayed the court to grant them bail in “the most liberal and affordable terms.”
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Fatimoh Sodamade, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 each with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the case till March 1, 2018 for hearing.
