The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, has directed the resumption of the judicial proceedings of the suspected Boko Haram terrorists detained in various parts of the country.

The AGF’s order was made known in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Minister, Mr Salihu Isah.

Isah said, phase two of the suspects’ trial at the Kainji detention facility in Niger state begins on Monday, February 11, 2018.

The resumption of the trial comes after the conclusion of the investigation of over 1,000 suspects as directed by the court during its proceedings of October 2017.

The Attorney General expects that those suspects with prima facie cases will be arraigned, while others without it will have applications made for their discharge.

Those discharged will go through a process of deradicalization from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) before they are finally released to their various families.
