PDP Chair: Party Leaders hold meeting in Enugu



PDP leaders hold meeting in Enugu ahead of party chairmanship elections.

Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) assembled in Enugu State, on Sunday, to discuss ways t for the party to progress.

Organised within the Enugu Government House, the meeting was carried on until nightfall.

The party leaders’ meeting comes ahead of its national convention slated to come up on December 9.

One of the main items on the agenda was on seeking out strategies to harmonise the national chairmanship position, which is being vied by over five high ranking PDP members, Daily Sun reported.

Some of the candidates contesting for  the PDP national chairman seat are Chief Bode George, Otumba Gbenga Daniel, Chief Jimi  Agbaje, Chief Raymond Dokposi, Prof Tunde Adeniran, and Rasheed Ladoja.

The aforementioned candidates were also present at the meeting in Enugu.

Of the 11 PDP governors, 10 were in attendance excluding EBonyi State Governo,r Dave Umahi

The governors were the hosted by  governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Seriake Dickson  (Bayelsa), Nyesom Wike  (Rivers), Ayo Fayose  (Ekiti), Ben Ayade (Cross River), Emmanuel  Udom  (Akwa Ibom), Darius Ishaku  (Taraba), Ibrahim Dankwabo  (Gombe) and Ifeanyi Okowa  (Delta).

Others PDP members present at the meeting include; Deputy Senate President , Ike Ekweremadu, former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, former Aviation minister, Mrs Kema Chikwe, Chief Tom Ikimi, among others.
