-APC kicks, vows to challenge the election outcome in court.

PDP wins all posts announced in the Enugu local government elections.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, swept the 14 local government chairmanship positions in the results released by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) in Saturday’s local government election.

The party also won all ward councillorship positions in 11 local government areas as announced by the state electoral commission.

The results were announced by the ENSIEC chairman, Barrister Mike Ajogwu, at the commission’s headquarters in Enugu on Sunday.

According to him, three local council and six councillorship positions are yet to be announced because there results came in late and were still been collated.

“So far, so good, the election had been credible, free and fair from ENSIEC assessment.

“I want to thank both the media, security agencies and Enugu State residents for making it a huge success.’’

“I monitored the election; anybody that was part of the process will find out that it was very free, fair and very credible.”

“All the result sheets were genuine; claims of fake result sheets were false; nobody can contemplate of anything fake here.”

Meanwhile, the  Enugu state All Progressives Congress, (APC) chairman, Barr. Ben Nwoye,  has vowed to challenge the outcome of the exercise in court.

Nwoye, told journalists that according to their assessment, there was no election across the State.

Nwoye who added that there was widespread violence, queried: “even if the ENSIEC does not want to do election, does it worth the blood of anybody?”

He declared that “in this circumstance, we have no other option than to go to court; we won’t call for cancellation because there was no election in the first place; you cannot cancel what does not exist; so we are going ahead to challenge the outcome of the charade they did today in court.

“We have got reports of violence across the State; even the party’s governorship candidate in the 2015 governorship election, Barr. Okey Ezea was tortured. He was abducted, beaten and the worst could have happened but for the intervention of security agents. As I speak to you, he is in hospital receiving treatment. Several other persons were wounded during the exercise.”
