Pandemonium erupted in Gantsa village of Buji Local Government Area of Jigawa State, as two toddler boys have drowned after they attempted to swim in a pond.

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, while confirming the incident to NAN, said the incident occurred on Thursday at about 6 p.m.

The names of the deceased according to the spokespersn are Yusuf Adamu, and Umar Ibrahim, said they were confirmed dead by a doctor after they were taken to hospital for medical attention.

He admonished Parents to always put an eye on their ward to ensure that they do not get involved in any activities that could be detrimental to their lives.

Also, on July 8, 2017, The state Police Command, in a statement through the its spokesman, SP Abdu Jinjiri, said that no fewer than 11 persons have drowned in rivers in different parts of state in one month.
