Police unveils what killed DJ Olu, Davido’s friend

The Lagos State Police Command says it found substances suspected to be hard drugs from the car in which DJ Olu, Davido’s friend died.

It would be recalled that DJ Olu whose real name is Olugbenga Abiodu and one Chime Amaechi who were crew members of Davido died in their car at Banana Island, Lagos, few days after news of Tagbo’s death, who was also Davido’s friend broke out.

Naija News had reported that Tagbo died after due to excess intake of alcohol as revealed by autopsy, on his birthday at a bar in Lekki, Lagos.

Naija News learnt that the corpses of the duo -DJ Olu and Chime had been deposited in the Lagos State Teaching Hospital morgue for post-mortem to find out the cause of their death.

A police source told Punch that, “They were found dead in the car and blood was coming out of their noses and mouths. A doctor was also at the scene. Physical examination of the bodies indicated that the victims must have died of an overdose of substances suspected to be hard drugs. The substances were found in the car.”

The Lagos State Acting Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi, also confirmed that the police recovered substances suspected to be drugs from the victims, adding that the substance would be subjected to laboratory examination for identification.

“But in any case, autopsies would be carried out to know the cause of death. There were no marks of violence on their bodies.

Let the autopsies explain the cause of death. The substances will also be analysed. We need expert opinion and it is being done,” Imohimi said.
