1. Ekweremadu speaks on how President Buhari slows down passage of budget

President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused of budget delay in the last four years by the Senate Deputy President, Ike Ekweremadu.

The statement came in his reaction to the debate led on the 2019 N8.83 trillion budget by the Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday.

2. JAMB announces a new date for 2019 UTME exams

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the conduct of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to 11th April.

In a statement on Wednesday by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB also fixed 1st of April for the conduct of its mock examination earlier scheduled for Saturday, 23rd March.

3. Why 2019 election is a ‘useless’ enterprise – Femi Falana

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has expressed anger over the conduct of the recently concluded general elections in Nigeria.

Speaking on a TV interview programme, Falana stated that the 2019 elections was an expensive joke.

4. Melaye’s motion on election causes an uproar in Senate

A point of order on alleged electoral malpractice brought up by Senator Dino Melaye (PDP-Kogi West) divided the Senate on Wednesday.

The lawmaker had on the point of order prayed the red Chambers to bring a motion to the effect that election held on 23rd February and 9th March was militarised.

5. Many feared dead as gunmen attack Police station in Edo State

Several persons have been reported dead following an attack on a police station in Afuze, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Several properties are also said to have been destroyed, while blood was splattered across the floor.

6. School building collapses in Lagos, several pupils feared dead

Several primary school pupils were feared dead on Wednesday, March 13 after a three-storeyed school building collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.

Naija News learned that the school building located at Ita Faji, Lagos Island, collapsed around 10 am. The school was said to be on the last floor.

7. Deji Adeyanju dumps Charly Boy’s ‘Our Mumu Don Do’ movement, gives reason

Political activist Prince Deji Adeyanju on Wednesday announced he has resigned his membership of the “Our Mumu Don Do” movement.

In a post on microblogging site, Twitter, Adeyanju accused Charly Boy of betraying the cause when he (Deji) was locked up in prison.

8. PDP members defecting to APC not loyal – Bode George

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olabode George, has slammed members of the party who are hurriedly defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) shortly after the presidential election.

Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, George said he had no objection to the decision of the party to challenge the outcome of the presidential election won by President Muhammadu Buhari.

9. Buhari reacts to collapsed Lagos building

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sympathised with families of victims who lost their lives in the three-storey building that collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.

10. U.S. to ground all Boeing 737 max aircraft

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a plan to ground all Boeing 737 MAX aircraft amid intense international and political pressure following the second deadly crash in less than five months.

“We’re going to be issuing an emergency order of prohibition regarding all flights of the 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 9,” Trump told reporters in the White House.
